Enhancing Economic Opportunity for Marginalized Communities.

Under the financial support of Childaid Network Foundation , Dalit Janjati Utthan Kendra Bara technically facillitated the project for enancing the economic oppartunity of Marginalized communities of Baragadhi Rural Municipality of Madhesh Province Nepal form Jun 2025 to December 2026. 

Project Changes: This project contributes to sustainable and inclusive local development in Baragadhi Rural Municipality by strengthening livelihoods, protecting children’s education, and promoting local ownership of economic initiatives. The changes described below represent the long-term impact the project supports and the concrete outcomes expected to be visible by the end of the project period.

Impact:

Marginalised households in Baragadhi Rural Municipality experience improved economic security, resilience to shocks, and enhanced social well-being, enabling children to remain in school, adolescent girls to access future livelihood opportunities, and communities to build sustainable local economies.

Through strengthened agriculture, viable local enterprises, and active local governance engagement, the project contributes to breaking intergenerational cycles of poverty and vulnerability, while promoting inclusive and rights-based development.

Outcome 1:

Smallholder farmers, women, youth, and returnee migrants apply improved livelihood and business practices that generate more stable and sufficient income, reduce dependency on insecure labour, and increase household resilience to economic and climate-related shocks.

Outcome 2:

Children from beneficiary households attend school regularly and receive better learning support, while adolescent girls gain practical skills and confidence that expand their future economic and life choices.

Outcome 3:

Local government and community stakeholders actively support and integrate inclusive economic development initiatives into local planning processes, strengthening long-term sustainability and local ownership.
